I thought I may as well write a little on my photography Shanghai Fashion Week. I shot 8 days straight and was quite exhausted by the end. It was mainly for Vogue, but also for WWD and a market research company for the jewellery industry.
This time, I was working for a different team of Vogue editors in NYC. After I filed my first selection of shots, I asked if there were was anything they’d like me to look out for. They said they were happy, but they’d like more movement and more colour, so that’s what I looked for from that point on.
Unlike other seasons, I was only assigned to shot street style this time around, although I was invited to and went to a few shows.
The thing about street fashion photography is that it has a limited shelf life, but at a certain point, I feel this work is going to become more valuable in terms of social documentary.
I recently did an interview, partly about this work, with a fashion blog and I might repost that here once it’s out.
Anyway, here are some shots from the week.
